However, the assistant's other features - including an integrated camera function called "Bixby Vision", which can identify objects and display related info onscreen, "Bixby Home" and "Bixby Reminder" will be shipped when the phone is launched.
Samsung told INQ in a statement that Bixby Voice will "expand to more languages globally over time", following its USA launch in June, so it's unlikely the feature will make its way to United Kingdom any time soon.
According to Samsung's official statement, Bixby voice search functionality is not yet active on the handset and will not go live until "later this spring".
"During internal tests in recent weeks, the performance of Bixby's voice recognition in English has lagged behind that of the virtual assistant's performance in Korean, these people said, and company executives are still discussing when to make Bixby available in English".
"Bixby Voice will be available in the United States on the Galaxy S8 later this spring", the company added.
But delaying Bixby Voice may be a sign the company learned from the Note 7 crisis.
While some elements of Bixby will be included in the April 21 launch, the headline voice activation feature won't be available in the USA until "later this spring", Samsung said in a statement. Needless to say, it basically helps you set reminders using Bixby. Samsung is "proudly" claiming that Bixby is the most intelligent virtual assistant on the market yet, capable of performing tasks that other virtual assistants can not. It joins Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, Google's Google Assistant and Microsoft's Cortana. However, in demos for Axios, the new voice assistant Bixby failed to work properly.
