Moon also expressed hopes the two countries would be able to cooperate in developing East Asia, including extending a natural gas pipeline from Siberia to South Korea, the Blue House said. Moon accepted Trump's invitation to visit at an "early date".
For his part, Moon said South Korea attaches great importance to its relations with China, and is willing to work with the Chinese side to develop bilateral ties and push forward their strategic cooperative partnership.
"I believe Russian Federation is our country's best partner in working to ensure the peace and prosperity of Eurasia", the new South Korean president told Putin, according to his presidential office Cheong Wa Dae.
