Earlier on Wednesday the party had held a committee meeting at the party's national secretariat in Abuja, where the Convention Committee chairman, Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and his subcommittee chairmen, deliberated on matters concerning the successful conduct of the convention, where principal officers of the party will be chosen.
He said that internal party democracy was crucial to sustaining the party's growth, adding that PDP would intensify efforts to woo aggrieved members back to the party.
"We are going to overcome that with our resilience and to do the needful", Makarfi said.

He called for the support of Nigerians for the party, assuring that it would not disappoint the country.
"The PDP is made up of a highly intellectual political class, that has the capacity to turn things around and manage the country's economy well", Ossai said.
The committee chairman said that the fact that the party became a victim of its own success was one of the sobering lessons that it learnt from its defeat.
