According to TMZ, a 20-year-old woman who identified herself as Elliott's ex-girlfriend alleged that the former Ohio State standout struck her while they were in a parked vehicle in Columbus, Ohio.
Leading to the six-game suspension to begin the 2017 regular season, the league ruled that Elliott has violated the league's personal conduct policy.
Ezekiel Elliott posted a statement Friday evening in which he apologized for causing "distraction and disruption". The manner in which the suspension occurred should be more concerning for the Dallas Cowboys.
Elliott, who turned 22 last month, has three days to appeal the ruling.

Yahoo's Charles Robinson reported that Elliott "is willing to take this whole suspension appeal through courts if he has to". "He practices hard and he's getting himself ready to play as well as he can". Commissioner Roger Goodell made his decision based on the league's investigation and in consultation with four advisers, including Hall of Fame player Ken Houston.
The suspension was the result of an National Football League investigation into a domestic violence allegation made against Elliott in July 2016. While Todd Gurley III continued to struggle running the ball and only managed two yards on four rushing attempts, Goff displayed chemistry with receiver Cooper Kupp on a nice 19-yard completion to put the Rams deep in the Red Zone.
"I have reviewed everything, and there is absolutely nothing - not one thing - that had anything to do with domestic violence", Jones said during the team's training camp.
