Parents drop in to enjoy with you, reconnect with you, not to see you working and busy in your own life. All these times they were the one taking care of you now it’s your turn to make them feel at home. Don’t give them the wrong impression that you are annoyed because of them. Utilize this time to form a strong bond with them. Make it simple for you as well as for them.
- Receive them with smiling face and open arms. Don’t show how frustrated you are because of traffic. It’s not because of them.
- Keep your weekends free. Plan indoor cooking. Sit together, eat together, enjoy together.
- Take them to Society Park every evening. Talk and walk hand in hand. In this way they will get familiar with the surrounding.
- Organize site seeing for them on your working days.
- Take them out for shopping. Don’t start shopping for yourself. Ask your mother to shop for her kitchen if she wants. And don’t let them pay.
- Plan a little get together of your close friends. Invite them at home; introduce them to your parents. They will feel a part of your life.
- Let your mom cook for you, oil your hair and listen silently to all her marriage proposals and let her forget all by giving her hugs. It works.
- Click photographs of your parents. Let them pose for you in western clothes. Firstly they will feel shy but will agree after sometime.
- Take them out to show nightlife but make sure that they are well dressed and ate something.
- Never forget to show your parents where you work or study. They will feel secure for you. The all time big tension of every parent-“are you working at right place?” will be solved.
